One small step to keep the Blues alive
One Giant leap for the Memphis Blues Venue in Memphis, Michigan
The 2009, two day Blues Presentation at Lions Field, staged under their large outdoor pavilion was brilliant
Over ten bands participated Friday and Saturday August 7th and 8th, 2009.
This free event was obviously enjoyed by the large crowd on hand for the various festivities taking place on the Lions Field.
What’s not to like? A huge covered pavilion, options to bring your favorite event chair, as well as your own personally stocked cooler.
What a fantastic, responsive, family oriented crowd to perform for. The young and old living large at the Memphis Blues Festival. I must mention also, what a considerate crowd. No mess after two days. Everyone respectful of the property and facilities. My sincere and extreme gratitude to every one of our Blues Fans….

Go see them and support them when you can!
The Bands: They brought their A game; each performing a one hour set, each donating their time and equipment for free. Without them this event could not happen. Thank you all the Bands. You make the Memphis Blues Venue free, and successful!
My heart felt thanks to all the musicians who supported our event. A genuine joy and love of playing for a good audience was plainly evident in you all.
A special thank you to Randy Hanley, my friend and drummer in our band Fossil Blues. This event could not take place without his musical and technical talent.
Thank you Bill, for your rodie expertise. The Memphis Lions, and Dave Pearl our Memphis Recreation Director, for the faith in us to make this happen……
One of the best, small town, emerging Blues Venues, in the State. See you next year in the last small town north of Detroit……………………..
